A Nottingham bus driver has raised over £4,000 for Nottingham Hospitals by walking the routes he usually drives.
His journey of 330 miles by foot and bike covered our 52 bus routes, which he walked 175 miles and cycled 155 miles in 11 days.
The challenge was completed on Sunday 4th May after Rob walked from Loughborough to Nottingham along the South Notts route.
The money has been raised for the Nottingham NHS, which plays an important part in Rob’s life. His late mother was a nurse at QMC and both his daughter and partner work at the City Hospital.
Initially setting out to raise £500, Rob smashed his target and was standing at £3,750 mid-week and is now over £4,000 following a £500 donation from NCT.
Anthony Carver-Smith, NCT Marketing Manager said, “This is an incredible achievement by Rob, both in terms of the distance covered and the amount raised for our local NHS. All of Rob’s colleagues are immensely proud of him”.
