Nottingham City Transport is offering free bus travel to commuters this week in celebration of World Book Day.
Anyone traveling on World Book Day simply has to show the drive their book when boarding and they will travel for free.
World Book Day is taking place on Thursday 5 March 2020.
The project is a registered charity which aims to give every child and young person a book of their own, as well as being a celebration of authors, illustrators, and books.
A spokesperson for the bus operator said; “Reading is a great activity to do when you’re travelling on the bus and to encourage more people to read on board, we’re offering free travel to everyone who shows a book to the driver when boarding the bus on World Book Day.
“No vouchers, no codes, just show the driver a book on 5th March 2020 and travel for free!
“For simplicity on the day for our drivers and to minimise potential abuse of the sentiment behind the offer, we’re offering this for physical books please.”
The offer is only available on NCT buses.
