Hucknall’s new £3 million cinema is now set to open to the public on Saturday 4 July 2020.

A new opening date comes after a significant delay due to social distancing rules put in place by the government.

The cinema will have 425 luxury leather electric recliner seats with masses of legroom, laser digital projection and Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound.

It will show the latest blockbuster files alongside independent movies and broadcast screenings of opera, ballet and theatrical productions.

Recently appointed manager, and Hucknall resident, Mark Gallagher told Nottingham Live; “I love films and I am really looking forward to bringing cinema back to the people of Hucknall in this fantastic building.

“The finishing touches have now been made and we can’t wait to open our doors.

“We know people will be delighted with the quality, comfort and service on offer in their new cinema.

“There will be special measures in place because of the Covid 19 restrictions to ensure the safety of all our visitors and staff but we are certain that they won’t detract from the overall experience”

The Irish cinema operator, The Arc Cinema, has invested more than £3 million in converting the old Byron Cinema into a state of the art 4 screen cinema – all while retaining the name and some key architectural features.
