Hospital staff will be permitted to park on-site for free in the Medical School Car Park at QMC and the Leisure Centre Staff Car Park at NCH.
Dedicated COVID-19 permits are also being issued by Nottingham City Council for essential staff at Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre and City Hospital.
This will allow staff to park in the areas surrounding both hospitals that are usually reserved for residents.
Portfolio Holder for Transport Cllr Adele Williams said: “There are long-standing parking issues raised by residents living in the streets surrounding City Hospital.
“To address this we have implemented residents parking permits in some areas and are looking to expand that to other streets.
“Given the current Coronavirus crisis, any expansion of residents parking schemes around the hospital is currently under review.
“We are also supplying the City Hospital with special NHS Covid-19 permits which will allow essential staff to park in the areas surrounding the hospital, spaces permitting, for an initial three-month period.
“We are also providing permits to the QMC where similar issues exist.”
