McDonald’s has closed all UK eat-in areas and more to drive-thru only.

In a bid to protect both it’s employees and customers from Coronavirus, McDonald’s has now closed all of its eat-in areas across the UK and Ireland and will move to a non-contact service.

The planned Monopoly promotion will also be canceled.

A statement released by McDonald’s tonight said: “In light of recent updates from UK and Irish Governments, we are temporarily changing our operations to ensure the wellbeing of our customers and employees.

“From 5am on Wednesday March 18, all restaurants will close seating areas and temporarily move to being takeaway, Drive Thru and McDelivery only.

“With immediate effect, all of our Drive-Thrus and all McDelivery orders via UberEats and Just Eat will be contact-free with no physical contact between customers, employees and couriers wherever possible.

“In these unprecedented times, our restaurants will continue to remain open for as long as it is safe to do so.”
